Sato Kogyo bagged a harvest of safety awards at the national Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) 2013 campaign. The winning projects are The Plaza Redevelopment at Beach Road, Victoria Theatre and Victoria Concert Hall Addition & Alteration Works, Sentosa Gateway Tunnel Contract ER295, and all three MRT Downtown Line 3 contracts at Bedok Town Park, Mattar and Bencoolen. Presented by the WSH Council, the Safety and Health Award Recognition for Projects (SHARP) Award recognises projects or worksites that have good safety and health performance as well as workplace safety and health management systems. This includes large-scale projects that mobilise significant manpower and have demonstrated their capability to manage WSH competently.

As the main builder of this technically challenging project from both architectural and engineering standpoints, Sato Kogyo participated actively during the design processes with the various qualified persons to explore safe, practical and maintainable solutions to overcome the various challenges, particularly those associated with the construction of two spiraling duplex stainless steel members held together by connecting struts to form a curved, tubular structure.
